    Gregor Diagnostics Inc. is a Madison, WI based, venture-backed, molecular diagnostics company developing novel molecular diagnostics for improved prostate cancer detection and patient management.

     

    Summary of Major Responsibilities

    The Biorepository & Lab Manager will be responsible for the management and operation Gregor's biorepository. This includes maintaining and organizing biological samples, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing the day-to-day operations of the biorepository. The Biorepository & Lab Manager will report to the CTO at Gregor.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Manage the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of biological samples
    2. Ensure compliance with regulations, including those related to biosafety and biosecurity
    3. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the biorepository
    4. Train and supervise biorepository staff
    5. Monitor and maintain the quality of samples, including tracking inventory levels and managing expiration dates
    6. Collaborate with researchers to identify and acquire samples for specific projects
    7. Implement and maintain a secure and efficient information management system for tracking samples
    8. Distribute, receive, and process specimen collection kits
    9. Order and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies
    10. Continuously improve the Biorepository process and operations
    11. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and industry experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering)
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a biorepository or related field
    • Strong understanding of regulations related to biosafety and biosecurity
    • Experience with sample tracking and inventory management
    • Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Strong project management and leadership abilities

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to work for up to 8 hours a day in an office environment.
    • Ability to work up to 6 hours a day in a laboratory environment.
    • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
